the goodsSince Aqua Books opened its doors in 1999, Kelly Hughes and his wife, Candace, have been planning on expanding the business. And now that Candace has graduated from the culinary arts program at Red River College, their dream is coming true.

In April the used bookstore relocated to 274 Garry Street, where they have double the shelf space. That means double the books for you to choose from, most of which are less than $10. The new location also boasts the EAT! bistro, with Candace wearing the chef hat. The new building has a 1,200-sq-ft. event room that holds up to 120 people for new events like ‘State of the Unicity,’ which focuses on Winnipeg.

Kelly says he wants to aid and abet the whole urban vibe in Winnipeg and wants Aqua Books to be a place where people come together.
