Art & Soul was just one night, but the affair with the WAG continues throughout the fall, thanks to the various works—some never before seen in Canada—hand-picked from the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh for Warhol: Larger Than Life. A major exhibition like this doesn’t just happen in 15 minutes—it took more than two years to bring the Prince of Pop to Winnipeg, and while the general public waited behind the velvet rope until Oct. 5, WAG members enjoyed a private audience on Oct. 4. And on Nov. 2, those looking for conversation pieces you’d never find at the bar took advantage of Art After Dark, which allowed patrons to wax philosophical over Warhol’s oeuvre, while savouring cocktails, appetizers and music from DJ Co-op. Which all proves that it’s perfectly possible to ennoble your soul through art, with style.
