The Event: The Young Associates’ 8th Annual Black & White—Underground
The Place: Underground, literally, at Portage and Main
The Cause: The I.H. Asper School of Business This past May, young professional chicsters snuck into the sultry speakeasy that took over the Shops of Winnipeg Square in what must certainly have been the first subterranean soirée at Canada’s most famous corner. The ‘20s, prohibition-themed networking event lured over 600 people to the Square, where sanctioned indulgences carried on into the wee hours. Many party-goers upped the dress code ante from the usual suspects of black and white formal wear to get in on the act in the era’s flapper-style.
