The Event: Birks grand opening, March 5, 2008
The Place: Birks, 191 Lombard Ave.
 Diamonds of all sizes were passing hands as sales people showed off their wares at the newly minted Birks store at the corner of Main and Lombard. The eager crowd mingled around glass cabinets, with those who could indulge pulling out pocketbooks, as others made a mental wish list of Baume & Mercier watches, gorgeous pendants and those enticing silver ring boxes. Could a lucky city woman soon be opening one to find the coveted canary diamond that lies encased in a cabinet along the store’s north wall? |
