The second go for this event proved to be another successful evening, luring suburbanites with all the tempting wares the Exchange has to offer. Shopping events, art exhibitions, and fetes at restaurants and lounges throughout the area provided ample opportunity for those not already acquainted to be introduced, and regulars to further enjoy the District. |

The Event: Art & Soul Eco Chic

This year’s ever-popular Art & Soul fundraiser for the Winnipeg Art Gallery celebrated the pre-loved, reused and recycled with a green theme. 750 attendees donning eco-fabulous apparel took in art exhibits, danced and possibly created a little art themselves all in the name of the environment—and art, of course. |

The Event: Refugee Camp in the Heart of the City
The Place: The Forks
The Time: Sep. 11-14, 2008
Not a glamourous gathering, but definitely a notable one. Winnipeg’s edition of Doctors Without Borders’ Refugee Camp in the Heart of the City was an eye-opener to the realities that refugees face on a daily basis. The interactive outdoor educational exhibit asked visitors to imagine life in a refugee camp for the “millions of people fleeing violence and persecution.” |

![]()  For the fourth time artists from Winnipeg and around North America have put their skills down by painting up vinyl records for a Graffiti Gallery exhibit.
12 Inch 4 Record Vinyl Art Show features roughly 200 painted records done in a huge range in styles. From bright graffiti artwork to somber realism and creepy characters, the records are numerous and line the walls of the Graffiti Gallery’s huge, open-concept, multi-level warehouse space.
